St. Augustine Redfish Camp Sept. 11-15 [1 SPOTS REMAINING]

ree

We are calling this one Fins, Feathers, and Freedom...

We’re excited for a very unique Redfish Camp that combines fishing, hunting, and the vibrant culture of St. Augustine, Florida. This September, immerse yourself in the beauty of the low-country marshes, savor some incredible food, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow Drifter Fish Club members.

Here’s what we have planned:

Overview

  • Three Full Days: Guided fishing and hunting.

  • Four Nights Lodging: We rented an amazing spot that is walking distance to the beach, has a rooftop porch overlooking the city, golf carts for zipping around and going to the ramp, a pool, whirlpool, and plenty of space to relax. (See photos below)

  • Private Food & Drink Tour: Experience the best of St. Augustine with the award-winning St. Augustine Experience, voted #1 on TripAdvisor. We have a private tour booked with the owner who will also be joining us for a fun podcast to discuss the area.

  • Unique Adventures: Each “camp” is tailored to showcase the culture, cuisine, and fishery of the area. With St. Augustine we have some fun tricks up our sleeves to make this one special.

Cost

  • Single Occupancy: $3,500 per person.

  • Double Occupancy: $3,200 per person.

Cost includes lodging, guided activities, all meals and drinks (including the private tour). Tips and personal snacks/beverages are not included.

Location

Discover the best of the St. Augustine marshes, known for their massive flood tides, low tides, and unique outdoor opportunities. The area is a paradise for anglers and hunters, offering:

  • Tailing Redfish: Chase redfish on the spartina grass flats during king tides.

  • Marsh Hen Hunting: Perfect for all experience levels, this unique “cast and blast” adventure combines fishing and hunting.

*If you plan to shoot marsh hens, you will need a Florida Hunting License, waterfowl permit, and

Duck Stamp.

  • Low-Tide Fishing: Target redfish as they belly-crawl through the mud in the creeks.

Group Size

We’re currently set up to host 8 members. Depending on interest, we may be able to expand. Reserve your spot early to ensure availability!

Lodging

We’ve secured two houses within walking distance of the beach and just a golf cart ride to the boat ramp. The houses features:

  • Rooftop Porch: Perfect for sunrise coffee and sunset meals.

  • Pool & Jacuzzi: Cool off or unwind after a day on the water.

  • Spacious Rooms: Seven single-occupancy rooms and one double-occupancy room.

Whether you want to relax on a quiet porch, watch some football, or swap fish stories on the porch with the group, there’s space for everyone.

Travel Information

  • Best Airports:

  • Jacksonville International (JAX): 51 miles away.

  • Daytona Beach International (DAB): 59 miles away.

  • Orlando International (MCO): 124 miles away.

  • St. Augustine (UST): Local option for domestic flights.

  • Flexible Departure: Fly out Sunday evening or stay through Monday morning to squeez the most out of the trip.

Marsh Hen Hunting

Marsh hen hunting (aka rail hunting) is a unique and exciting experience. As you chase redfish through the spartina grass, marsh hens flush up from the reeds, offering an incredible opportunity to combine fishing and hunting. No prior experience is needed! Important: A Florida hunting license is required for this activity, but you won’t need a fishing license as you’ll be with a guide. You also do not need to bring a gun for this trip. You will need a Florida Hunting Liscence, waterfowl permit, and Duck Stamp.

Food & Drink

Food lovers, this trip is for you! Our special menu will feature local flavors, and the private tour with St. Augustine Experience will highlight the area’s renowned culinary scene. Expect to enjoy great meals, waterfront happy hours, and plenty of camaraderie.

Why St. Augustine?

St. Augustine isn’t just for history buffs and old ladies. Its massive tides, low-country culture, and pristine marshes make it a playground for outdoor enthusiasts. Guided by Justin Anderson and the Historic Coast Outfitters team, we’ll take full advantage of what this area has to offer—from chasing tailing redfish to exploring its rich ecosystem.

For those of you who have children, spouses, etc. there are also plenty of chocolate shops, gift shops etc. to stock up on some mid-year brownie points...

*Before you ask, no, we are not allowed to wear the hats on the wall in the photo above. If you would like Chase to design a Drifter sun hat, hit him up.
