Finish Time Sunday

We are planning to fish a full day Sunday and wrap up around 3:00-4:00 PM. However it is easy for us to get you out earlier if that is what is best for your travel accommodations. We can work around your schedule with that.

Tackle Recommendations

Fly: Guides will provide flies but if you would like some patterns I will gather some this week and share. They all need weed guards but these reds aren’t usually too picky about patterns. We can usually get away with 20# tippet and use 8wt rods with floating line. We will bring some intermediate line and sink tip to have available for y’all if needed but these fish usually don’t hang out too deep.

See @Chase Hancock's first pattern for camp here: https://www.drifterfishclub.com/forum/staff-only/hcft-vol-3-issue-1-rfc-fly

*We are happy to put together a Drifter Fly Box if you would like to have everything taken care off. Please contact our Club Fly Expert Chase@DrifterFishClub.com to get an arraingement that meets your needs.

Spin: We use 2500 spin reels with paddle tails, spoons, and topwater. Can provide more info on specific gear if you would like.

Alright, alright, alright. First off, if you have not checked out our Trip Recap for Drifter Members give this LINK a click. If that tickles your tailing redfish fancies, you'll probably want to join us for this one.

We will be back in Steinhatchee with the guide team we ran in October. We used that weekend as a pilot to make sure we had her all dialed in...and don't worry we bought Justin Anderson a bigger net in case you happen to hook a once-in-a-lifetime world class pompano on a topwater.

This camp will have fly and spin oppurtuinities and we are hoping that Florida won't Florida too bad and give us some stable weather that encourages fish to cooperate. We grabbed these dates because we have some really nice low tides and hope that fish will give us a some nice tailing shots in the turtle grass. This is a really rural fishery and it has low pressure all year, but especially during late February so we are really hopeful for some super happy fish.

Definitely doing Pizza Night again...definitely doing breakfast burritos....probably some nice ribeye steaks one night but open to some suggestions on what type of stuff you would want to eat during the weekend.

Ohhh, also Casey Anderson will be joining us to fish and tattoo anybody who is not scared of their mom finding out. Check out his art HERE. Whoever can manage to catch the smallest rat-red will get a free tattoo from Casey. Casey is also the lead artist for Bajio Sunglasses and doing a bunch of fun Club Swag for the weekend including our Trip Shirt. Get a feel for his style HERE. Trip shirts will only go to the members on the trip. Each trip will have it's own fun graphic and shirt.

Would love to hear some ideas, questions, etc as we continue to prep for this trip.

Fire away.

Redfish Camp HQ: 1334 Junior Howell Road, Steinhatchee, FL 32359

Rooming: Everyone will have their own beds, and we have plenty bathrooms (4 to be exact). Single and multi-occupancy rooming options will be made available.
