Hunter's Book Recommendations
One of the things that I would like to work on is recommending books that match what we are doing as a club. Whether it is in line with an upcoming trip, or general philosophy, I think that we can all have a more meaningful experience on the water if we take the time to read and learn more about our pursuits.
Totch: A Life in the Everglades

For those who are going to the Florida Everglades Camp in February of 2026, this is a must read that will help you better understand the history and appreciate the place where we will be fishing. This book was recommended to me by our Lead Guide Brian Espisitto and is a must read for everyone joining us.

The Gulf: The Making of an American Sea

This book is a little meatier than my usual recommendations but is rich in history surrounding the #1 place that we fish as a club.

Body of Water: A Sage, a Seeker, and the World's Most Alluring Fish

I recommended this book a while back and sent signed copies to folks who joined me in the Bahamas. Those who read it said that they found it helpful in building up apreciation for chasing bonefish in the crystal clear waters of the Bahamas. For those of you wanting to chase bonefish, this is a great book to help fan that flame and better understand the allure of the "Silver Ghost."

Fly-Fishing For Redfish & Fly-Fishing For Bonefish

I highly recommend each of these books for anyone who saltwater fly fishes (not just for redfish and bonefish). Aaron Adams gives some insightful biology, science, and behavior around each fish and these practical fish will help you better understand where and how to target flat's fish on fly.
I especially recommend the Bonefish Book for anyone coming to Belize with us!
