Los Locos November 8-14 [1 SPOT REMAINING]
Ok...there is no doubt that this trip is a hot topic in the club. Join us as we make the trek to Mag Bay, located in Baja California, to chase Striped Marlin and Sailfish. We will be fishing with the fine folks over at Los Locos who have this fishery incredibly dialed in...like 100+ fish on fly per week dialed in. We will be there from November 8-14 which will allow us to be in the middle of the action as these fish make their migration along the Mexican coast where they can be targeted by dead-drifting in boats near bait pods.
Weather and time permitting, we will also be able to target other fish, including Roosterfish who are caught regularly sight fishing in their surf...more on all that as we get closer.
OVERVIEW
Rods (AKA Spots): We will be having 8-10 depending on interest within the club.
Price: We are ironing out the exact final number this January after we have another planning meeting with their team, but this trip will be around $6,900. We feel confident that if it is more than that it will not be much more.
Airfare: Flights are not included in the price. I will be researching flight options, but we will fly into either Cabo, La Paz, or Loreto. Once we all arrive we will be privately shuttled down to the lodge. It will be a long, but scenic drive. Cold beer and local food will be available!
Gear: For Marlin you will want a 12+ wt rod. We are happy to help you out with a rod from our "rod locker" so you don't have to buy something you will not ofter use. You will want a 10wt for roosters.
Flies: We will include some information on flies in this post but we will leave @Chase Hancock to that! They recommend large blue over white deceivers for marlin and bown and white deceivers for roosters. We will share plenty more fly stuff as we get closer.
