Hi All,

I'm JD and I believe I am the sole Canadian in the group. I grew up in Toronto but have spent most of my adult life in Ottawa. I have fished my whole life and while various other activities have entertained me here and there I always come back to fishing. Growing up my folks had a place in St Pete beach and I spent every vacation catching as many fish as I could in Boca Ciega Bay and Tampa Bay. While I am not exclusively a fly angler, that is definitely my preferred way to target fish.

I am happily married to Sarah and we have two boys in University...one in Toronto and our youngest in Halifax, Nova Scotia...so we're empty nesters at this point.

I am a still a regular visitor to Florida although I have spent more time fishing in the Keys in recent years than the west central coast. My wife has family that moved to Hilton Head, SC a few years ago so I have really enjoyed exploring the low country in recent years. When I am home (and the weather is warm) my main fishing pursuits are pike, largemouth, and smallmouth bass which I target from my 17ft Scout.

Aside from fishing, I am an avid cook, watch lots of sports, and like hiking (or just about anything in the outdoors). I tie flies in the winter and would definitely describe myself as an average tier. Professionally, I work in the semiconductor & electronic component industry, running a manufacturers rep firm with my brother. I'm glad to be part of the club and look forward to meeting everyone in person.
