Open for suggestions

I am planning to begin our out west trip in mid April. I will slow down in New Mexico to fish the San Juan River below Navajo Lake, then I will spend some time in Utah before going through Idaho to check out the 50 mile riffle on the Madison River. I am a little concerned about snow melt that time of year. I will then

plan to meet the club the end of May in Craig Montana for the Upper Missouri. Here are some questions for the group.

Are you familiar with options for me around West Yellowstone or the Madison if the melt has the river to high? I think I will be near Henry’s Lake in Idaho.

Does anyone have any suggestions about other options along that route?

I appreciate any suggestions, thanks in advance. Chip

📢 Travel Hack: TSA PreCheck & Global Entry – Worth It for Drifter Fish Club?

TSA PreCheck and Global Entry

What Are They?

TSA PreCheck ($78 for 5 years) – Skip long security lines at U.S. airports, keep your shoes on, and avoid removing laptops or liquids.

Global Entry ($100 for 5 years) – Includes TSA PreCheck plus expedited customs clearance when returning from international trips (think less time waiting in line).

Why Should You Care?

  • If you fly domestically, TSA PreCheck speeds up security screening so you can get to your gate faster.

  • If you travel internationally (e.g., fishing in the Bahamas, Mexico, Costa Rica), Global Entry saves time at customs when re-entering the U.S.

  • Many premium credit cards (like Chase Sapphire Reserve) reimburse the cost, making it a free perk.

How to Apply?

1️⃣ Apply online at https://ttp.dhs.gov/

2️⃣ Pay the fee (use a credit card that reimburses it if you have one!)

3️⃣ Schedule a quick in-person appointment

4️⃣ Enjoy faster airport travel for the next 5 years!

If you’re booking flights for upcoming Drifter trips, this could be helpful.

Anyone here already using TSA PreCheck or Global Entry? Drop your thoughts below!
